Atlanta Jazz Festival
Midtown
This annual three-day festival, help this year in Piedmont Park, is regarded as one of the country’s largest free jazz festivals. The event features world renowned jazz artists in a multi-cultural celebration. The festival is free. No outside food allowed, but there will be plenty of vendors onsite.

Memorial Day Weekend Salute to the Troops
Stone Mountain Park
This three-day celebration of American spirit, which salutes our troops and their families, is Atlanta’s largest Memorial Day weekend celebration.
In addition to all the regular Stone Mountain Park attractions, there will also be live music and the famous laser show will feature fireworks with a special tribute to the troops. Active and retired military personnel get a free Adventure Pass plus discounts for their family. Laser show and music included in parking fee, other activities for an additional fee.

Atlanta Braves at The Ted
The Braves will be in town for eight straight home games from May 20 – 27, playing The Brewers, The Rockies and finishing up with The Red Sox.

Memorial Day at Callaway Gardens
Enjoy sun and fun with the opening of Robin Lake Beach and activities including including Aqua Island, an expansive floating playground, paddle boats and mini golf. Some activities will cost you an extra fee.
You can also watch dozen of the world’s finest water sports athletes representing more than 14 countries compete for cash and prizes in the Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament. There are many fun events throughout the weekend. The weekend will feature live music and the Callaway Gardens Farmers Market. Active and Retired Military receive 50% off gate pricing for themselves and up to five passengers in the same vehicle.

Decatur Arts Festival
Kick off the weekend with a Friday night Arts Walk, and then come back Saturday or Sunday for an artists market around the historic Decatur Square. There will also be live music, dance performances, and even dance classes you can participate in.

Military Timeline
Atlanta History Center
Spend the day traveling the military timeline from the American Revolution to current conflicts at the Atlanta History Center. Veterans will share personal stories of wartime and memorabilia. Visitors can also interact with living history interpreters, view a Civil War encampment and military vehicle display, hear from guest speakers, explore exhibitions, and participate in kid friendly activities. Free with History Center admission. 11 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Brew at the Zoo

Memorial Day National Moment of Remembrance
A National Moment of Remembrance takes place every year at 3 p.m. local time. The National Moment of Remembrance, established by Congress, asks Americans wherever they are on Memorial Day to pause in an act of national unity for one minute to remember what Memorial Day is really about.

Roswell Remembers
This non-political, non-commercial ceremony honoring veterans and the sacrifices they made is Georgia’s largest Memorial Day Ceremony. Draws more than 6,000 people to honor the troops. Food vendors and music in addition to the traditional military program. Located at the City Hall complex just one mile from the Roswell Square.
