Juneteenth, (June 19th 1865) commemorates the emancipation of slavery and the achievements of African Americans.
This year is the 150th anniversary of the Juneteenth holiday and we are having a 4-day community event galvanized by an all inclusive 3-day community clean-up that will take place directly in the Mozely Park community where the event will be held.
All are invited to attend!
The event will include a parade with a full marching band, leaders from the community, a wide array of services, merchandise and food vendors, educational workshops, arts, crafts, literature, music (both local and celebrity artists), a social justice pavilion, a legal assistance and information pavilion, a children’s activities area, chess and other games, martial arts exhibitions, yoga, a natural hair fashion show, African dance, drumming and much, much more.
We will use JA as a platform to reflect our culture and to reinforce community and family values.
