Atlanta Mayor’s Chief of Staff Candace Byrd to moderate talk with Ambassador Melanne Verveer and Kim Azzarelli, Co-Authors of Fast Forward: How Women Can Achieve Power and Purpose, at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum October 22nd
Ambassador Verveer and Ms. Azzarelli will celebrate the launch of their new book, Fast Forward: How Women Can Achieve Power and Purpose, with a panel discussion moderated by Candace Byrd, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed’s Chief of Staff, at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum Thursday October 22nd at 7PM.
The women, whose experience spans corporate America, local politics and global diplomacy, will engage in a discussion on how women and girls around the world can know their power, find their purpose and connect with others to achieve their goals.
Fast Forward features interviews with more than 70 trailblazing women along with eye-opening data that demonstrates that women are key to creating lasting change in economic growth and business success.

WHO: Ambassador Melanne Verveer is a founder of Seneca Women and director of Georgetown University’s Institute for Women, Peace and Security. She was the first U.S. ambassador-at- large for global women’s issues. Melanne co-founded Vital Voices and served on White House staff.
Kim K. Azzarelli is a founder of Seneca Women and co-founder and chair of Cornell Law School’s Avon Global Center for Women and Justice. She is a legal, corporate and philanthropic adviser and has held senior positions at companies including Newsweek/The Daily Beast, Goldman Sachs, and Avon.
Candace Byrd is the Chief of Staff for Kasim Reed, the Mayor of Atlanta. An Atlanta native, she began her career in criminal defense law until she served as the Chief Public Defender for the City Court of Atlanta as well as the Director of the Office of the Public Defender for the Municipal Court of Atlanta.
